The last week of May brings two great community events to Northeastern Pennsylvania.
The “8th Annual NEPA Bluegrass Festival” will take place from May 28th-31st at Tunkhannock’s Lazy Brook Park. There will be an impressive line-up of traditional and progressive bluegrass artists, including the Grammy nominated Boxcars. This family friendly event will also include children’s programs, food and crafts from a variety of handpicked vendors, music and instrument workshops, and the use of the park’s scenic grounds.
Then, on May 30th, The NEPA ALS Foundation and their president, Wayne Bank’s own Central Scranton Community Office Manager, Matt Swartz, will host the 2nd annual “NEPA 5k for ALS Run” along with a 1 Mile Walk at Nay Aug Park in Scranton. Interested runners and walkers are encouraged to register in advance for a discount on the registration fee. Proceeds will benefit the NEPA ALS Foundation, which raises money for ALS support, awareness, and research for local families affected by the disease.
Grab your family and friends and attend one of these wonderful community events.
