This weekend brings two wonderful events that show just how much Northeastern Pennsylvania has to offer.
From August 1st-2nd, the “11th Annual Festival of Wood” will return to Grey Towers National Historic Landmark in Milford. Admission is free at this unique event that will feature handmade wood crafts, demonstrations, music, children’s activities, educational exhibits, and much more. Sponsored by Grey Towers Heritage Association, Pocono Arts Council, and Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, this exciting festival is “a celebration of our natural and cultural heritage of wood”.
Then on August 2nd, Pocono Raceway will host the “Pennsylvania 400” in Long Pond, with special events occurring all weekend including qualifying on July 31st. Considered one of NASCAR’S most competitive raceways, Pocono’s 2.5 mile track features three turns, each with its own degree of banking, making for a truly thrilling race.
Attend one of these terrific local events and see why there is something for everyone in NEPA.
