Wayne Bank Updates Mobile App With Touch ID

Honesdale, PA – Wayne Bank recently updated its Mobile Banking App to include Touch ID for Apple® iPhones, which provides increased convenience, security, and time savings for customers.

Touch ID is a biometric fingerprint identity sensor that enables customers’ iPhones to identify who they are by reading their fingerprint when they touch the phone’s screen.

This new feature gives customers the ability to quickly and securely log into their account directly from the Mobile Banking App’s login screen, by touching their finger to the screen instead of typing out their password. It is safe and secure because Touch ID creates a mathematical representation of each fingerprint rather than storing an image, thereby making any fingerprint reverse engineering impossible. Furthermore, Touch ID only allows five unsuccessful fingerprint match attempts before requiring that a password be entered.

“Wayne Bank is committed to offering our customers state of the art banking technology,” explains Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Robert J. Mancuso. “Touch ID enhances our customers’ experience by providing a new level of convenience in a secure and easy to use manner, thus improving a Mobile Banking App that is already an extremely valuable service for our customers.”

Wayne Bank’s Mobile Banking gives customers the flexibility of banking from anywhere using apps that can be downloaded to just about any smart phone or tablet. By searching “Wayne Bank” in the Apple App and Google Play Stores, users can download the Bank’s free apps and enjoy electronic banking functionality from anywhere they take their phone or tablet. This includes viewing account balances and history, transferring funds between accounts, depositing checks using Mobile Deposit Capture, accessing BillPay and PopMoney, checking account balances on the go with Instant Balance, and now logging in by fingerprint with Touch ID. Touch ID is only available on the Mobile Banking App for Apple® iPhones and users will need to first update their Wayne Bank app in the App Store to access it.
