Wayne Bank Teaches Interview Skills To Wallenpaupack Area High School Students

Honesdale, PA – On May 19th, Wayne Bank’s Human Resources Associate, Jamie Padula, visited the Child Care Career and Technical Education class at Wallenpaupack Area High School to give a presentation on job interviewing, etiquette, and resume writing.

The students, taught by Child Care Instructor/Family & Consumer Sciences Teacher, Mrs. Melissa Geisheimer, learned a wide variety of skills from Mrs. Padula’s program that will be valuable to them as they prepare to enter the workforce or attend post-secondary education. Topics discussed included: where to look for a job, how to create a resume, how to prepare for an interview, how to dress for an interview, the importance of a first impression, professional appearance, interviewing tips, and soft-skills.

“I’m so pleased to be able to share this program with the local students at Wallenpaupack Area High School again this year,” explained Mrs. Padula. “This is the third year that I’ve visited Mrs. Geisheimer’s class and the program has been a very beneficial resource for these students as they prepare to enter the next phase of their lives. My position with the Human Resources Department of Wayne Bank allows me to give the students an inside perspective on what hiring managers are looking for and what results in a successful interview, which is invaluable knowledge for students who are getting ready to enter the workforce for the first time.”
